As a long term avid reader of Castaneda I find “Journey to Ixtlan” a delightful read. The reader is cautioned to not turn Castaneda or Don Juan into some castanda of heroes. He plays the role of the naive, sometimes dense and blundering student, which makes the book seem artless and laces it with subtle humor.
I felt and absorbed don Juan’s teachings in a very heavy way.
