Thanks for telling us about the problem. It is about an alleged apprenticeship to the Yaqui “shaman,” Don Juan. A fascinating book unlike any other. However…well, there’s a lot of fantastic magic that takes place in front of this eye-witness.

Castaneda’s constant interaction with don Juan, along with his fretting about how this could not be real, has the effect of making it seem real even when one knows it is not.
